Seven Truths Podcast Nominated for Best Non-Fiction Podcast Award At 2021 Rockie Awards at Banff World Media Festival
Toronto, Canada – June 15, 2021 – Banff World Media Festival announced the nominees for its 2021 Rockie Awards today and we are thrilled to share that Tanya Talaga’s Seven Truths, a podcast series produced by Antica Productions for Amazon Audible’s inaugural ‘Canadian Originals’ slate, has been nominated for Best Podcast: Non-Fiction award.
The Rockie Awards International Program Competition is one of the world’s largest program competitions of its kind, with participation from more than 55 countries annually, including an international jury of 150 industry professionals.
The Anishinaabe are guided by the Seven Grandfather Teachings – Love, Bravery, Humility, Wisdom, Honesty, Respect and Truth. In Seven Truths, we explore each teaching through the eyes of an Anishinaabe storyteller, Tanya Talaya, and through the lives and experiences of people she’s proud to know. These truths, told through contemporary stories, help us find common ground here on Turtle Island, so that we can live together, justly.
Tanya Talaga is an author, public speaker, producer, director, journalist and storyteller. For more than 20 years, she was a journalist at the Toronto Star covering everything from health to education, investigations and Queen’s Park. She’s been nominated five times for the Michener Award in public service journalism and been part of teams that won two National Newspaper Awards for Project of the Year.
Seven Truths is presented by Audible and produced by Antica Productions.
