About the Host

Rudyard Griffiths is a senior fellow at the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto. Rudyard is the co-founder and Chair of the Munk Debates; a charitable initiative of the Toronto-based Aurea Foundation established by industrialist Peter Munk. For over a decade he was the founder and executive director of the history and civics think tank the Dominion Institute which merged with the Historica Foundation in 2009 to create Historica Canada. Rudyard is the author of the 2009 Globe and Mail Book of Year, Who We Are: A Citizens Manifesto and has edited two dozen publications on international relations, public policy, politics. He has been a columnist at the National Post and the Toronto Star. Rudyard is a founding director of the Agha Kahn’s Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa. He holds a Master of Philosophy from Cambridge University where he was also a doctoral candidate.
